Sign up

Download it

Choose what you want to trade
You can trade several markets using your MT4 platform, including FX, equities indexes, commodities, and individual shares. You can also trade CFDs and spread bets.
Click ‘View,’ then ‘Symbols,’ or use the shortcut ‘Ctrl-U’ to access the list of instruments. A list of symbols that you may add to your market monitor window can be found here. Drag the symbol on the chart, and you’ll get your preferable price chart.
Open a position
Go to ‘tools’ and select ‘new order’ from the order window when you’re ready to make a trade. The ‘order’ window will appear as a result of this. You can also use the F9 key on your keyboard.

Symbol: You can choose which market to trade from a drop-down menu.
Stop-loss: If you feel the market has moved against you, enter the stop-loss level where you want the trade to end.

Volume: The total number of lots you want to trade.
Type: When you click buy or sell right away, you can choose ‘Market Execution’ to place your trade. If you wish to pick the level at which your order opens, you can choose ‘Pending Order.’

Apply charts
MT4 has several features for customising and personalising your trading charts. For example, on the chart, you can insert objects.
To draw, simply click on the chart and choose the object you want from the toolbar. Some items’ spacing and the position may be changed simply by moving your mouse while clicking on the chart, while others require you to open a different window for modification.
Right-click on the chart and choose ‘objects list’ from the menu to change or remove an object. This will bring up an option with a list of all the active items on the graph. Next, select your desired object from the drop-down menu, then click ‘edit’ to change the indicator settings or ‘delete’ to remove it.
Use indicators
On charts, you can use indicators like the RSI, stochastic oscillator, and Bollinger bands. Simply drag and drop your desired indicator from the ‘navigator’ window onto a chart. This will generally bring up a window where you can customise the indicator.
Right-click within the chart window and select ‘indicators list’ from the menu to change or delete an indicator that is currently shown. It will bring up a menu with a list of all of the activity indicators on the chart. Select your desired indicator from the list, then click ‘edit’ or ‘delete’ to adjust or remove the indicator settings.
Change timeframe
To modify a price chart’s timeframe, just right-click on the chart, choose ‘timeframe,’ and then select your preferable timeframe from the drop-down menu. The timeframes vary from a 1-minute to a month.
