2.1. Information you provide

  • Contact details (name, email address, phone number) when you contact us or subscribe.
  • Any content you submit (messages, feedback, reviews/comments).
  • Preference information (e.g., newsletter preferences).

2.2. Information collected automatically

Note: We do not ask for or require your broker login credentials. We do not process payment card details for broker accounts.

3. Why we process personal information

We process personal information to:

  • Provide and improve the Website (performance, debugging, site functionality).
  • Respond to enquiries and provide support.
  • Send newsletters/updates if you opt in (you can unsubscribe anytime).
  • Maintain the integrity and security of the Website (fraud prevention, abuse detection).
  • Measure marketing performance (e.g., which pages are helpful, which campaigns work).
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

4. Lawful processing (POPIA)

We process personal information in line with POPIA’s conditions for lawful processing (including accountability, purpose specification, further processing limitation, information quality, openness, security safeguards, and data subject participation).

Where required, we will obtain consent (e.g., for certain cookies or direct marketing where applicable), and you can withdraw consent at any time.

5. How we share personal information

We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers (“operators”) who help us run the Website (hosting, email delivery, analytics, security, customer support tools). They may process data on our instructions.
  • Advertising/analytics partners (typically via cookies/IDs) for measurement and performance.
  • Professional advisers (legal, compliance, auditors) as needed.
  • Authorities if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of “selling your name/email list.”

6. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside South Africa if our service providers host or support systems abroad. Where we transfer information internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data (e.g., support enquiries vs. analytics logs).

We use cookies and similar tools to:

  • make the Website work (essential cookies);
  • remember preferences;
  • understand site usage (analytics); and
  • measure marketing performance.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our cookie banner/preferences tool. Some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

  • correct or update it;
  • delete it (where appropriate);
  • object to or restrict certain processing (including direct marketing); and/or
  • withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@tradefx.co.za. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. POPIA recognises data subject participation rights and related protections.

13. Third-party links (brokers and other sites)

The Website contains links to third-party websites (including brokers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing personal information.

14. Complaints

If you have concerns about our processing of your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
