FxPro has no fixed minimum deposit on its Standard account, and it does not publish a minimum in rand. FxPro recommends an initial deposit of USD 1,000 so that you have room to manage margin, but you can fund less.
You can hold both your FxPro Wallet and your trading accounts in ZAR, which avoids converting rand deposits. Before you fund, note that FxPro is not currently FSCA-authorised in South Africa (see below).
FxPro minimum deposit by account type
| Account | Minimum deposit | Pricing | Platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | No fixed minimum; USD 1,000 recommended | Spread only, from 1.2 pips on FX majors | MT4, MT5 |
| Raw+ | No minimum published | From 0 pips plus USD 3.50 per lot per side on FX and metals | MT4, MT5 |
| Elite | No minimum published; aimed at high-volume traders | Raw+ pricing with rebates from USD 1.50 per lot | MT4, MT5 |
| cTrader | No minimum published | Raw pricing plus USD 35 per USD 1 million traded on FX and metals | cTrader |
| Premium/VIP | Offered to selected clients, typically USD 50,000 or equivalent | Individual terms | By arrangement |
FxPro states in its accounts FAQ that only Premium/VIP status is linked to a deposit level. Older figures you may see online, such as USD 100 for MetaTrader or USD 1,000 for cTrader, are no longer what FxPro publishes as at October 2026.
FxPro minimum deposit in ZAR
There is no official rand minimum. In practice, your first deposit is limited by the payment method you choose, and the method shown in FxPro Direct sets its own minimum. FxPro offers wallet and trading account currencies in ZAR, USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN and AUD.
- Open the wallet in ZAR if you fund from a South African bank account or card, so the deposit lands without conversion.
- Match the trading account currency. Transferring from a ZAR wallet to a USD trading account converts your money, so check the rate first.
- Plan for margin, not just the minimum. A few hundred rand can open an account, but one leveraged position can use most of it.
If a rand account matters to you, compare other options on our brokers with ZAR accounts list.
How to deposit with FxPro
Funding runs through the FxPro Wallet in FxPro Direct: you top up the wallet, then transfer to a trading account.
- Register and complete verification in FxPro Direct.
- Choose Deposit and pick a method. FxPro lists bank wire, Visa and Mastercard, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and local bank transfer, depending on your country.
- Enter the amount, confirm, and transfer the funds from your wallet to your trading account.
FxPro says it charges no deposit or withdrawal fees of its own and usually processes deposits within 10 minutes of receiving them. Banks and payment providers may still charge. FxPro does not publish a South Africa-specific EFT method, so check the list shown in your FxPro Direct account.
Withdrawals
Withdrawals go back to the funding source. FxPro quotes about 1 working day for e-wallets, 3 to 5 working days for bank wire and about 10 working days for cards. An e-wallet withdrawal can carry a fee if you have not traded.
FxPro minimum deposit vs other brokers
FxPro is one of several brokers with no fixed minimum, but its FSCA licence has lapsed, so check who you would contract with. Here is how its entry point compares with brokers South Africans often shortlist, as at October 2026:
| Broker | Minimum deposit | ZAR account | South African set-up |
|---|---|---|---|
| FxPro | No fixed minimum (USD 1,000 recommended) | Yes | FSCA licence (FSP 45052) lapsed |
| XM | USD 5 on Standard and Ultra Low | Yes | XM ZA (Pty) Ltd, FSP 49976; CFDs issued by XM Global Ltd (Belize) |
| HFM | USD 0 on Cent, Zero and Premium; USD 100 on Pro | No (USD, EUR) | HF Markets SA (Pty) Ltd, FSP 46632; client agreement with HF Markets (SV) Ltd |
| Octa | USD 25 (R480 for local deposits) | No (USD) | Orinoco Capital (Pty) Ltd, FSP 51913, as intermediary; CFDs from an offshore Octa entity |
| Trade Nation | R1,000 first deposit | Yes | Trade Nation Financial (Pty) Ltd, FSP 49846 |
| XTB | No minimum | No (USD) | XTB International Ltd (FSC Belize); no FSCA entity serves SA clients |
A low or zero minimum only tells you what it costs to open the account. Your payment method sets the practical floor, and the margin on your first trade decides how much you really need. Our FSP search guide shows how to check any licence number before you fund.
Is FxPro regulated in South Africa?
Not currently. FxPro Financial Services Ltd held FSCA authorisation as FSP 45052, but the FSCA register lists that FSP as lapsed, with the status updated on 18 December 2025. FxPro’s other group companies are regulated by the FCA (UK), the Securities Commission of The Bahamas and, through Invemonde Trading Ltd, the Seychelles FSA.
The point to check before you deposit is the legal entity named in the client agreement you accept at sign-up. That entity is your counterparty and sets which rules and complaint routes apply. Do not assume FSCA oversight or access to the FAIS Ombud. You can check any FSP number on our FSCA FSP search page.
